ABOUT THE BOOK :

The world of business is changing fast; sweeping globalization and rapidly changing technology have brought out a sea change in the way businesses are being conducted. The knowledge that was new yesterday literally becomes obsolete today. When such is the pace at which information obsolescence takes place, success in business now demands that we keep pace with the latest in managing business organizations successfully. In these scenarios, equipping ourselves with the latest information is the only insurance against failure and learning is the only way out here. Businesses have to keep themselves abreast of the best practices in the managing their organizations. There are many ways of generating knowledge and research is the one of the best ways of doing so, for it adopts a scientific method in its process. Best practices are routinely developed, overzealously implemented, become fast obsolete and finally sink in oblivion giving way to more refined ones-this cycle continues unabated.

The present edited book entitled “Compendium of Management Research and Cases” is aptly an outcome of that cycle continuing unabatedly. It is a collection of research outcomes and cases on important management issues posing the contemporary business world over. We have been very selective in accepting the articles/cases and only those that are relevant to the times, pass the scrutiny of rigour in terms of methodologies and meeting the requirements of transparency in scientific communication of the materials have been included in this compendium.

We are confident the edited book-a compendium of research and cases- will be well received by the management scholars and practioners alike. All is well that ends well. The painstaking efforts in publishing this edited book will bear fruition only if the ideas and findings presented in the chapters are implemented by scholars and practitioners in real-life organizational situations. No work is perfect in to. Constructive suggestions for improvement of the edited book will be highly solicited so as to produce a better version of the book.
